Personalized Giving

Giving is an expression of who you are and what you care about

There are many ways to participate at the Gaston Community Foundation. Giving through the Foundation will amplify your gift by contributing to the growth and well being of our community fund that is used for grants directly impacting Gaston County. Below are several ways to engage.

Types of Funds

Establish a Fund

It is easy to set up a fund. After a brief conversation, GCF staff can help you determine what type of fund best accomplishes your charitable intent. A donor advised fund allows the donor to recommend distributions from the fund to any 501(c)(3) organization, school, religious organization or municipality. Funds are charged a 1% fee and are included in the investment pool.

Participate in Benefactors Memorial Program

The Benefactors Memorial Program was established to allow donors to contribute to the Garrison Fund, which is the largest unrestricted fund at GCF. Annual donations can be made at any of three giving levels: Philanthropists $5,000 and up, Friends $1,000-$4,999 and Benefactors $250- $999. Throughout the year, donors may request memorials be sent in remembrance of friends and family. The names of the departed are entered into the Book of Memory and published in the GCF Annual Report.

Join a Giving Circle

A giving circle, such as the Next Generation Fund, is a collection of donors that wish to target giving in a specific area.
