Participating in a giving circle is a wonderful way to give back and make our community a stronger and better place for everyone. 2020 served as a great example as to how we can achieve great things as a group. When each individual/couple pools their money and time together, we begin to see the difference in our community. The Next Gen wishes for you to consider joining this giving circle. If you are interested in participating in the Fund for the 2021 year, the minimum amount for couples to participate is $125.00 and individuals $75. Contributions are tax deductible.

While 2020 was not the year of Next Gen socials, we were able to experience comradery in other forms: Next Gen participated in the 2020 “Are you smarter than a Gaston County 5th grader,” raising funds for the Gaston County Education Foundation prior to Covid 19. The Next Gen also continued their involvement in the Community Foundation Run as it turned virtual. As conditions of the virus worsened with the start of back to school in August, the Next Gen partnered with the Education Foundation to host donation drives for Gaston County Schools. Through those drives held in Belmont and Gastonia; over $6,000 was contributed, more than 5,000 facemasks were donated and many cleaning supplies for the schools were given. To close 2020, the Next Gen held its annual grant cycle, awarding funds as follows: Least of These Carolinas ($3,000); Make A Wish ($1,750); Junior League ($1,750); and the Dream Center ($1,500). Next Gen was also able to continue partnership with the Education Foundation by committing a sponsorship of a 2021 team in “Are you smarter than a Gaston County 5th Grader?”

The Next Gen appreciates your consideration to join the Next Gen for the 2021 year.
